We have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team. This is a full-time ongoing role based in our Geelong Head Office.

About the role
The Payroll Officer is responsible for processing and administers the payroll for GMHBA Limited team members, including employee additions, termination calculations, year-end payroll reconciliation, Single Touch Payroll (STP) and general payroll related statutory compliance.

Reporting to the payroll manager, your day to day will include:
  • End to end Payroll preparation and processing – fortnightly and monthly, for 300+ FTE
  • Interpretation and application of EBA's, Awards and Common Law provisions
  • Processing of timesheets, deductions & allowances.
  • Superannuation payments, PAYG & Payroll Tax requirements
  • Processing leave, terminations, new starters
  • General administration - payroll/HR information, system admin
  • Working collaboratively with the Payroll Manager to identify improvements to processes and systems.

About you

As the successful candidate, you’ll be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience in a similar payroll position where you’ve worked with multiple and complex industrial agreements (e.g. Enterprise Agreements, Awards, Common Law).
  • Proficiency in Payroll systems – Preceda, Preceda Time would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry skills
  • Well-developed communication skills – personable and approachable and able to deal with confidential enquiries.
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills in order to meet deadlines and ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with or exposure to reviewing/improving payroll process would be an advantage
