About the role
 
Within this role you’ll lead the development and execution of the Product Strategy & Roadmap for the GMHBA Limited Health Insurance business and respective brands. You will lead the GMHBA Product team and collaborate across all functions of the GMHBA business to achieve an optimised product portfolio that delivers competitive value to GMHBA members and also meets target profitability measures.
 
As a member of our Private Health Insurance (PHI) Leadership team, you’ll also be accountable for:
 
  • Setting and delivering the annual  Product strategy, plan and quarterly roadmap to support the delivery of the overall business strategy and plan.
  • You will have accountability for the gross margin line of PHI P&L - monitoring performance and progress against plan and taking action to ensure financial targets are met 
  • Working with the product actuary who will maintain product profitability governance  and insights through monitoring profitability performance dashboards.
  • Leading our product vision including research of new products, opportunities for enhancements and product redesign; and managing the product lifecycle and development process.
  • Monitoring and reporting on performance of GMHBA products - developing strategies to respond to emerging risks and establishing key metrics to measure effectiveness and drive improvement in performance.
 
About you
 
As the successful candidate, you’ll be degree qualified in marketing, commerce or business and have at least 5 years’ experience in a related marketing, product or analytical role.
 
You’ll also be able to demonstrate:
 
  • Proven experience enhancing products to meet financial targets for profit and loss, ideally working in a financial service, consumer finance or similar high-volume sector organisation
  • Experience in consumer research and segmentation.
  • Leadership capability at a senior level, with experience working in a product management team with income responsibility.
  • Experience in complex analytical models, forecasting and data mining techniques.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software and demonstrated experience with database systems, business analysis and reporting
  • A highly able communicator with the ability to convey and cascade information and ideas, through a variety of media, to individuals or groups in ways that engages the audience and helps them to understand and retain the message.
  • A consultative and collaborative approach where you seek to personalise communication to meet the internal/external customers’ needs.
  • An understanding of the Private Health market  and private health Insurance products is desirable and/or experience in the financial services sector.
